Most Indexes Make Fresh Lows 1 A dour outlook on Citigroup (NYSE:C - News) and real estate sparked a broad sell-off. The NYSE composite plunged 2.1%; the S&P 500, Dow and Nasdaq lost 1.7%. All but the Nasdaq undercut their Nov. 12 lows. Volume fell across the board. Some consumer-related, building and transportation groups led the decline. The 10-year Treasury yield sank 11 ticks to 4.06%, a 2-year low. .
Child-porn law focus of appeal
The U.S. Supreme Court will consider the constitutionality of a federal law that expands the definition of child pornography in an effort to crack down on cybersex prowlers. The high court will hear a First Amendment quarrel today and decide if two phrases in the PROTECT act of 2003 are unlawfully vague and overbroad. The court is expected to take the case under advisement after oral argument and issue its opinion before the end of its current term in June 2008. The issue surfaced after Michael Williams pled guilty on two counts of child pornography: possessing the material and "pandering" (promoting) the images. In an Internet sting operation, Williams offered sexually explicit pictures of his 4-year-old daughter to an undercover federal agent; authorities found 22 images of underage children on Williams' computer.

The findings may lead to more effective ways to treat or prevent persistent infections. .
Police and local briefs
Two people were flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after a vehicle accident this morning in Wabash County. Ricardo Alberto-Sanchez, 22, of LaFontaine, was driving southbound on 900 South and Old State Road 15 around 6:05 a.m. when his vehicle went left of center and became airborne, according to a Wabash County Sheriff Department report. Sanchez and his passenger, Diana Valerio, 22, of Marion, were ejected from the vehicle. Neither was wearing a seat belt. Alberto-Sanchez was listed in critical condition Saturday morning. Valerio was in serious condition. The accident remains under investigation. .
